The bar at Bemelman's Located on 76th street, just one block east of New York's famed Central Park, Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel is a wonderful place to drop into and relax.

This relatively spacious bar provides an interesting mix of spaces, from romantic and intimate feeling seating along the wall, to more casual tables on the floor, as well as a beautiful and lengthy bar with plenty of seating.

The name of this bar comes from the beautiful mural by Ludwig Bemelmans (the creator of the "Madeline" series of children's books), which covers virtually every available wall space.

The cocktails here are truly a treat worth the visit. Avoid ordering whatever your standard is, and instead take a look at the cocktail menu and select something appropriate from there. The inspired menu of libations is the combined work of famed mixologist Dale DeGroff and Audrey Saunders, the (former) Beverage Director of the Carlyle
