Last Word
It is often by browsing through various old cocktail volumes that we re-discover a drink that might have been popular, or at least known, decades ago. Today such books as the "Jones Complete Barguide", with it’s thousands of recipes, can be a wonderful tool (in the right hands) for discovering some of these long forgotten classics.

It was in the process of searching though the Jones book recently that the Last Word cocktail was re-discovered by the bartenders at the Zig Zag Cafe, and it has been one of their more popular drinks ever since.

You could consider it as being a gin drink for people who might not like gin. It’s addition of Lime Juice, Maraschino, and Chartreuse to the Gin provide an excellent balance of sweet, sour, and herbals to this very approachable cocktail.
