Bones
- Equipment:
- Six dice, paper and pencil to keep score
- Objective:
- Be the first player to score 10,000 points
Bones is a relatively simple scoring game.
The Roll
A player rolls all six dice at the start of their turn. From their roll, they choose which 'scoring' dice they wish to reserve. They don't have to reserve 'all' of the scoring dice, but they must reserve at least one dice in order to continue.
The Roll Through
If all rolled dice are able to score, then this is called a 'roll through'. They gather up all six dice again and continue accumulating their score.
The Bust
If any roll results in no scoring dice, then they have busted, and loose any points they have accumulated in that turn, and play moves ot the next player.
The Pass
After any scoring roll, the player can choose to stop, record their score for this turn, and pass the play onto the next player.
Scoreing
When rolling the dice, you want to get ones, fives, three of a kind, three pair, or a "straight" (1,2,3,4,5,6). These are the only things that produce a useable score. A one is worth 100 points. A five is worth 50 points. And a three of a kind is worth the 'kind' times 100. For example, three twos are worth 200 points, and thee fives are worth 500 points. An exception to this is if you roll three ones. This is worth 1000 points. The final types of scoring rolls are three pair or a straight, both are worth 1200 points.
