These books are handy for when your friends ask you if you happen to know the recipe for some obscure or strange concoction. They usually clearly denote their attention to "Quantity" over "Quality" by bannering across their cover how many thousands of drinks they contain. The recipes themselves should not be considered as the best, or even most common variation of these drinks, but they provide a good starting point from which you can choose to expand from. For example, they will often list "Tripe Sec" as one of the ingredients for a Sidecar, when in fact this drink really struts it stuff when properly made with Cointreau.
It may be splitting hairs, but in the list below, I am specifically not including recipe books that appear to knowingly present a subset of cocktail recipes. For a list of those books, you want to refer to my Cocktail Guidebooks page.
Every cocktail library should contain at least one of these book, perhaps even more.
