1001 Mixed Drinks and Everything You Need to Know to Set Up Your Bar
This excellent compendium of cocktails is an excellent choice for a "Wad-O-Drink" book. The listings are broken down into sections based on the base spirit, with good introductory information about each of the spirits, their production, and some of the popular varieties.
In addition to the standard list of recipes, Gary will occasionally provide some additional background information on specific cocktails, as well as providing more mixing instructions then you might normally find for the drinks that require it.
It was also refreshing to see the final chapter in the book, in which you will find the descriptions of the classic beverage categories. These are the various drink families that were in existance well before Prohibition, and includes such classics as "Cobbler", "Crusta", "Daisy", "Fizz", "Highball", "Rickey", and "Smash".
A paperback version of this book is also available, but I highly recommend the sprial bound version, it makes it a lot easier to look up recipes and leave the book open while you are mixing.
