The Picture Cook And Drink Book for Men
Here is a unique approach to a cookbook. Originally published back in 1950, and recently offered as a reprint by Surrey Books, this humorous look at cooking and drink mixing uses easy to follow pictures to provide simple instructions that even a guy can follow.

In addition to a number of classic cocktail recipes, it also provides some great recipes for things such as Welsh Rabbit, Steak Dinah, Crepes Suzette, and several others.

Here is a sample of how the recipes in the book are provided:

Delmonico Cocktail

The three bottles shown at the top are Brandy, Italian Vermouth, and Angostura Bitters. Then following the recipe shown in the diagram you see the recipe as:

Delmonico

  • 1 jigger Brandy
  • 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • I2 tsp. Italian Vermouth
  • Stir with ice, strain into a cocktail glass.

While different then the recipe for the Delmonico that I list in my collection, it does show how fun and interesting this book can be.
