Intro to Aperol

Intro to Aperol: 2 ounce Aperol; 1 ounce gin Beefeater; 3/4 ounce lemon juice; 1/4 ounce simple syrup; 1 dash Angostura Bitters; Garnish: orange peel; Shake with ice, strain into a cocktail glass.; Source: Audrey Saunders (2009)

This drink, created by Audrey Saunders of the Pegu Club in New York, has become a mainstay of many bars across the country to introduce people to Aperol, the lower proof (and lighter tasting) cousin of Campari.
